RAJMAHAL
The Jami Masjid in Mangalhat at Rajmahal of Sahibganj district in Jharkhand was built in the 16th century by Raja Mansingh, the Governor of Emperor Akbar. It is located on a high land that goes by the Arabic name “Hadaf,” which means the target of an archery butt. Hadaf was a part of Rajmahal Township, where the capital was moved from Gaur to Rajmahal in 1592 AD as a result of the Ganga River’s change in path and the subsequent depopulation brought on by an epidemic in 1575 AD.
